Capsipure utilises chilli pepper extract which has a reputation of being able to increase the speed of your metabolism, and therefore you lose weight, but how exactly does this work?
Claimed weight loss benefits
Capsipure claims to be able to raise your metabolic rate and therefore it acts as a thermogenic. The metabolic rate is simply a term used to describe the rate at which the chemical reactions occur in order to produce one unit of ATP, the body’s basic energy currency. Increasing the metabolic rate means more ATP has to be produced which creates more heat as a by-product. This causes more calories to be consumed, facilitating weight loss. The product itself is a budget variant of the very popular although very expensive Capsiplex product, which has received praise in celebrity media. The two products share the same patented formula although the very nature of patented formulas means that nobody can truly know how effective it is.
These claims are taken directly from the Healthy2U website, as Capsipure doesn’t have its own dedicated online presence.

How Capsipure Works
One of the main reasons diets fail is hunger. Therefore, appetite control is a key consideration in developing effective diet plans. Several studies have found that the addition of capsaicinoids to the diet causes a reduction in ad libitum energy intake during subsequent meals, in other words, eating capsicum at breakfast causes a person to eat fewer calories at lunch – see our Capsipure Clinical Studies article for more information. Using a proprietary blend of excipients and coatings, Capsipure gives users the maximum effectiveness of capsaicinoids without any oral or gastric irritation, thus solving the problem of capsicum digestion.
The processes in which the body produces energy (in the form of ATP) are collectively known as the metabolic rate and these processes are sped up when internal body temperature is increased. Similarly, these processes often slow down when you are resting. The presence of the chilli pepper extract in Capsipure is a way in which you can raise the metabolic rate and increase the level of thermogenesis.
When a product claims to be able to increase basal metabolic rate such as Capsipure does, it will also directly increase the thermogenic response. The rate of thermogenesis can be manipulated easily, for example through shivering. This is why when it is cold your muscles contract and relax rapidly leading to the shiver effect, this increases the demand for energy as the muscles are constantly activating and as such require more ATP causing you to feel warm.
Capsipure claims to be able to raise your metabolic rate due to the heat produced from the chilli pepper extract. Although there is no evidence to support that Capsipure can actually cause these changes, the above description is how, in theory, Capsipure would work.

Key Capsipure Ingredients
There are only two ingredients that are found within Capsipure, these are Capsimax Plus and Capsicum extract. Capsimax Plus is a patented chilli pepper extract and as such, there unfortunately isn’t very much we can tell you about it. This lack of information is used as a safeguard to prevent other companies copying the formula and isn’t very helpful for the consumer. Capsicum extract, on the other hand, is a better-known and relatively easily available ingredient although for every scientific paper that shows evidence to support its weight loss potential there is another paper, which provides equally credible evidence to the contrary.

|Weight Loss Power:||60/100|
Chilli pepper has become associated with being able to increase the metabolic rate of individuals and studies carried out on mice provide very promising results. However, the replication of these results in humans has been far more complex: there are numerous studies, which can provide evidence to support and dispute the claims. There is also evidence to suggest that continued exposure to the chilli pepper will reduce the weight loss potential of the product.
|Speed of results:||40/100|
The speed of results really depends on what kind of diet you currently have: if you are used to eating hot or spicy foods then the product will have very little effect in both the short and long term. You may see greater benefit in having a cup of coffee or considering an exercise regime. If however, you are not used to eating foods such as chilli peppers then you may find results come fairly soon after taking the product.
For more information read our How to use Capsipure article.
The product is not intended to function as an appetite suppressant and as such, you are unlikely to find any changes occurring to your food cravings. As the product increases your metabolic rate, you may actually become slightly hungrier; therefore the product may require some self-control on your part.
|Long Term Results:||30/100|
A study was covered in detail in the article ‘Clinical Studies of Capsipure’ which explained that continued exposure to the chilli pepper extract (three months in the case of this particular study) significantly reduced the effectiveness of the pepper. Three months in the grand scheme of things, is a fairly short amount of time and suggests that the benefits of long-term exposure will be minimal. This is attributed to the body becoming used to the presence of chilli pepper and thus the tolerance level to the heat increases to a point where it no longer has an effect on the metabolic rate. The product is fairly safe to consume thanks to it only containing two ingredients. However, the inclusion of the patented blend means that we cannot be sure if there are side effects associated with it. The second ingredient (Capsicum extract) has no side effects associated with it either. If you are not used to hot foods such as chilli peppers, then you may experience slight discomfort in the early stages of taking the product. There has also been speculation that prolonged use may play a role in liver damage but no studies have been conducted to either confirm this or quantify how long this process takes.
|Value for money:||60/100|
Capsipure is cheaper than a substantial number of similar chilli based products at a total price of between £20 and £30 depending on your preferred retailer. While this is not necessarily a cheap price, it is certainly a reasonable amount to pay for a product that lasts for a whole month.
Capsipure Side Effects
Capsipure only contains two ingredients and so the chances of side effects are fairly slim. The first ingredient is a patented blend called Capsimax Plus which is derived from the very popular Capsimax diet product and as such, we cannot say that it is perfectly safe. The second product is Capsicum extract; this is a fancy name for the Capsaicinoids, which give the chilli pepper its heat sensation. As this is a completely naturally occurring ingredient, it is unlikely to cause side effects unless you are very sensitive to spicy or hot foodstuffs.
The only real possible side effects are irritation of the throat and digestive discomfort but aside from these two, the product is claimed to be safe to consume in the short term. In the longer term, there are suggestions that prolonged exposure may lead to liver damage although no experiments have been conducted to quantify how long this may take.

Where to Buy Capsipure
Capsipure is available from a wide range of retailers, which perhaps is a testament to how popular it has become recently. The product is manufactured by a company called World Foods Brand Management Ltd but is not available to purchase through their website as they do not act as a vendor for their own products. Instead, the company initially signed a deal with Holland and Barrett to be an exclusive supplier of the product, although based on the extensive availability of this product it would seem this agreement has since expired. Regardless of where you decide to buy the product from, you can only buy a month supply, which comes to a total of 30 tablets. The product is currently retailing for £25.69 with free delivery.
You can also purchase this diet pill from Amazon and EBay. It would appear that the best place to buy Capsipure from is undoubtedly EBay especially as the seller has such a high satisfaction rating. However, Amazon is also a good alternative should you be concerned about buying from an individual rather than an online shop. Holland and Barrett is the most expensive of the three although they do sell the product in their high street shops, which may make it more accessible to some consumers.

The product is another addition to the increasingly long line of chilli-based products with the aim of increasing your metabolism and burning more calories. Unfortunately, the product does not have its own website and so you will have to go to individual retailers should you have any questions or complaints. The product is a reasonable price in comparison to similar products although there is no scientific research, which can conclusively say that the product works. However, there are few to no side effects which is always a relief to potential customers. If you fancy trialling the product there does not seem to be much reason why you should be apprehensive.
