Turboslim Chronoactiv Review
This product uses a day and a night pill and says that you can lose weight within just 15 days as well as claiming to have an 80% customer satisfaction rate. Some important information is however lacking from the official website, including ingredient quantities. The company mentions a clinical trial, but no link is provided to this study and a review of the literature suggests that it does not exist.
Claimed weight loss benefits
Turboslim Chronoactiv claims to be able to help you lose weight during the day and also at night while you sleep. It is said to achieve this through metabolism boosting and fat burning.
How Turboslim Chronoactiv Works
Turboslim Chronoactiv is effectively two different diet pills combined in the same box. There is a pill to use through the day which has a formula apparently designed to boost metabolism and burn calories mainly through the use of green tea. Then there is also a night tablet which is claimed to target fat storage through the use of a patented ingredient called Oxylia Total. This whole process, the makers claim, has been designed to fit in with your body’s natural biorhythms. You can learn more about biorhythms here.
There is little evidence provided to back up the claims. One ‘study’ is provided as evidence very little is actually revealed about this study and it does not appear to be reliable. We are simply told is that it involved 80 people over 8 weeks and was self-assessed. This self-assessed part is the most worrying as it may mean participants were left to monitor results themselves and/or they went about a diet in different ways, for example with different diet plans and exercise routines. Both of these sound unscientific and therefore cannot be used as proof.
A quick look on the official website confirms that the company is promoting the supposed thermogenic and metabolism boosting properties of the product.
The processes in which the body produces energy (in the form of ATP) are collectively known as the metabolic rate, these processes are sped up when internal body temperature is increased (thermogenesis). Similarly, these processes often slow down when you are resting. The rate at which these processes occur during rest is known as your basal metabolic rate. The basal metabolic rate is dependent upon a vast array of factors such as gender, fitness levels, muscle mass and age. Women tend to have a slower metabolic rate in comparison to men of the same age due to their predisposition to carry more fat in comparison to muscle tissue as fat requires less ATP to maintain.
Thermogenesis shares a close relationship with metabolic rate, as it is the prime driver when it comes to increasing the metabolic rate, be it due to specific diet pill ingredients or exercise. When a product claims to be able to increase basal metabolic rate, it supposedly increases the thermogenic response. If an ingredient is scientifically proven to increase thermogenic response, then basal metabolic rate will also increase, resulting in potential weight loss.
The above description covers the intended action of the daytime pill, the night time pill on the other hand contains a patented blend of ingredients, which the website fails to explain, and so there is no real method of describing exactly how it would work; this remains unknown.
Key Turboslim Chronoactiv Ingredients
There are different ingredients in the day and the night tablets of Turboslim Chronoactiv. The full list of ingredients are not actually revealed on the official website and while retailers such as Boots have disclosed the ingredients, quantities are still missing.
The night pill consists of Oxylia Total (500mg), sea collagen (25mg) and sea elastin (25mg). Oxylia Total is a combination of a number of different extracts and nutrients but it’s unclear exactly how effective this ingredient is.
As is usual with weight loss products, there are no studies that examine their effectiveness as a whole product, therefore we are forced to find studies which examine individual ingredients in order to come to some sort of conclusion as to if the product is likely to work or not. As Oxylia Total is a blend of ingredients unique to this product, there is no way of claiming that this product can help you lose weight, there are certainly no studies carried out that examine this formula. No studies exist claiming that sea collagen or sea elastin can assist in weight loss.
A study carried out by Viechtbauer and Westerterp (2009) identified eleven studies in which Green Tea had been used as an enabler of weight loss. The study discovered that a common result was that metabolic rate and thermogenesis increased in regular drinkers of Green Tea compared to regular drinkers of coffee. The authors also remarked on how racial origins seemed to determine the effectiveness of Green Tea as a health loss option. They discovered that in studies of Asian origin, Green Tea proved to have a unanimously successful outcome when it came to weight loss. However, studies carried out in the Western World were unable to replicate this with similar numbers of studies reporting Green Tea was either successful or unsuccessful. The review summarised its findings by concluding that some people may have a genetic predisposition for Green Tea absorption, although Green Tea can be considered a universally popular choice for weight loss.
A study conducted by Vinson et al (2012) investigated the effects of high (1000mg) and low (750mg) dosages of green coffee in relation to weight loss. The study recruited sixteen participants aged between 22 and 46 with an average BMI of 28. The study lasted for 22 weeks and was structured as follows; one group was assigned a high dose/low dose/placebo sequence, the second group were assigned a low dose/placebo/high dose sequence and the third group were assigned a placebo/high dose/low dose sequence. The first dose in each pattern occurred for 6 weeks and then was withdrawn for 2 weeks followed by the next dosage in the sequence for a further 6 weeks and so on. At the end of each 6-week cycle body weight, BMI, body fat percentage, heart rate and blood pressure were measured.
The study discovered that significant reductions occurred in body weight, body fat percentage and BMI with a small but insignificant decrease in heart rate. These effects occurred only when the participants were taking the green coffee supplement. However, it is unlikely that you will see similar changes if you buy Turboslim Chronoactiv as this product only contains 20mg as opposed to the 700mg low dose that was investigated.
A study carried out by Bahadori et al (1997) sought to investigate the weight loss potential of chromium (200mg) compared to a placebo over an eight week calorie controlled diet followed by an eighteen week maintenance period. The study recruited a total of 36 obese participants between the ages of 36 and 51. After the initial 8 weeks of calorie control it was discovered that both the placebo and chromium groups lost a similar amount of weight, this was replicated after the eighteen week maintenance period had been completed indicating that chromium may not be an effective weight loss solution.
Turboslim Chronoactiv Side Effects
While we would like to see much more testing on the product to prove not only its safety but effectiveness too, the reviews from customers don’t mention side effects. The ingredient list does not hint at any major potential side effects either, though there are some adverse effects associated with some of the ingredients.
There have been documented side effects from regular green tea consumers. These side effects include insomnia, dizziness, nausea and bloating. Green tea contains caffeine and so could cause the same side effects as those associated with caffeine; further to those mentioned above, it may also cause headaches, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, and anxiety.
The next ingredient is green coffee which contains a high percentage of caffeine which means this product will not be suitable to people are sensitive to its presence, the side effects experienced are much the same as green tea but are slightly more pronounced.
Chromium appears to be a fairly safe ingredient; it is useful for the storage of nutrients within the body. It has been suggested that there may be a link between excessive chromium intake and kidney failure, but these occurrences are extremely rare and require further research to determine the probability of such events in the future.
Zinc has the potential to be very dangerous when taken in dosages larger than 100mg per day, as Turboslim Chronoactiv only contains 10 mg per day then you should be fine. Side effects to watch out for are a fever, abnormal stomach pains and a constant metallic taste. Do not take this product if you have HIV or AIDS as zinc consumption can significantly shorten your lifespan as it reacts with the disease.
It is not known if Oxylia Total can cause any side effects as it is a unique formula but the sheer number of ingredients that compose it mean they probably appear in very small amounts and as such should be safe. It is best to consult a doctor if you are unsure.
Sea Collagen and Sea Elastin
There is little information about taking sea collagen in an oral form as collagen is usually injected directly so it is advised that you talk to a doctor about this issue. Unfortunately, the same can be said for sea elastin. Due to the lack of knowledge about the side effects of the ingredients within this ‘night time tablet’, you should consult with your doctor before taking these tablets.
How to Use
The makers ask you to take one day tablet every morning before breakfast and then one night pill before dinner. This is a fairly simple and easy to remember routine and you should not have any problems keeping up with the dosage. Although the makers claim that you will begin to see results within 15 days of taking Turboslim Chronoactiv, a number of customer reviews have said they experienced no weight loss at all. We recommend consulting a doctor before taking this supplement if you have a pre-existing health condition or are taking any medications.

The main ingredient, green tea, is thought to have a selection of health benefits and preliminary studies have suggested that it might have a slight effect on weigh loss. However, a lack of clinical trials and customer reviews means that we can’t be sure how effective the product might be. The product is unlikely to cause severe side effects, but may not be suitable for everybody. It is not available to buy from the official website, but can be purchased from several high street stores in the UK.Google+
