Claimed weight loss benefits
The official website lays out four key areas in which the Turbotherm product allegedly benefits you. The first proposed benefit is that the product provides the perfect support in conjunction with a healthy diet in order for you to meet your goals. The second alleged benefit is that the caffeine content allows you to maintain a higher intensity for longer during exercise, therefore your perception of effort is lower and you can work out for longer periods of time. The third benefit is not well explained on the website as it simply states that the product contains chlorogenic acid. Although there is no concrete evidence, chlorogenic acid has been associated with being able to delay the release of glucose into the bloodstream. This causes the store of glucose to last longer whereby giving you the sensation of possessing more energy without needing to eat more food. The fourth and final benefit is that the product contains the B Vitamins, which are involved in fat, protein and carbohydrate metabolism.

How Turbotherm Works
The product is intended as a thermogenic product but what exactly does this mean?
Thermogenesis means the creation of heat. There are three types of thermogenesis. The first kind is work-induced from exercise. It is necessary for our muscles to create heat because warm muscles work much more effectively than cold muscles. The next form is called thermo-regulatory thermogenesis. This is involved with keeping the temperature of the human body regulated. The average body temperature is 98.7 degrees (F), which is quite a bit higher than the ambient (surrounding) temperature in most cases. There are two types of thermo-regulatory thermogenesis: shivering and non-shivering. Shivering helps the body create heat. The skeletal muscles create the shivering. There’s a little muscle on each hair that helps to create a better blanket for us. The shivering heats up the body. The non-shivering thermogenesis fits into the third classification, which is called diet-induced thermogenesis. This effect increases the rate at which energy is produced, which means you can exercise for longer periods of time.

Key Turbotherm Ingredients
Turbotherm contains nine ingredients in total but without a doubt, the two most important ingredients are L-carnitine and caffeine (in the form of green tea and green coffee). A study conducted by Brandsch et al (2002) investigated the effects of L-carnitine supplementation on the body composition of rats. The experiment lasted for a total of twenty six days and used a total of thirty six rats with an average body weight of 460 grams, the group was then split into two separate groups where one group acted as a control and one group were exposed to L-carnitine supplementation. The results of the experiment saw no difference between the two groups in terms of weight loss as both groups lost almost identical amounts of weight. This suggests that L-carnitine is not an effective weight loss solution. A similar study conducted by Villiani et al investigated the effects of L-carnitine supplementation in obese women. The study split thirty six obese women into one of two groups, either an L-carnitine group or a lactose group. By the end of the eight week study neither group had significantly lost any fat mass indicating that both L-carnitine and lactose are ineffective weight loss ingredients. Having said this, very little further evidence exists and there are structural problems with both of these studies, this therefore gives hope that L-carnitine may yet play a role in weight loss.
Another very common ingredient found within an increasing number of weight loss products is caffeine-based products. Ingredients, which are commonly used as a source of caffeine, are coffee beans and green tea. A study carried out by Dulloo et al (1999) sought to investigate the effects of green tea ingestion on energy expenditure over a 24 hour period in ten males. The study found that green tea increased total energy expenditure over the 24-hour period by 4%. As the quantity of caffeine in Turbotherm is very high then it is likely that the product is capable of not just matching these results but also exceeding them.

|Weight Loss Power:||45/100|
As this product is intended for those who are already exercising, or who are athletes then it is unlikely the product will cause significant weight loss. The aim of the product is to give you more energy so that you can lose weight by exercising harder. Therefore, the weight loss power of the product is very dependent on your own actions and motivation to do the work that is necessary for you to lose weight.
|Speed of results:||50/100|
As this product is a thermogenic-based product then you should begin to see results quickly. The high amount of caffeine in the product, while being a safety concern for some, ensures that you should feel the effects almost immediately. If however, you are not a regular caffeine drinker then it is advisable you reduce the number of tablets you take per day, which may decrease the speed at which results should occur. The biggest effect you will see will be in terms of increased energy, being able to see actual weight loss will be very dependent on how much exercise you are actually doing. If you are training a lot and at a high intensity then it is likely improvements will be quick. If you do not engage in exercise or don’t push yourself very hard then it may take a while for any weight loss to become apparent.
This product is not intended as a direct appetite suppressant, having said this, the increased production in energy will indirectly result in you needing to consume less food as energy is available. Having said this, you may actually increase your appetite after exercise if the product enables you to work harder than you have before.
|Long Term Results:||45/100|
It is likely that the effectiveness of the product will reduce in conjunction with the length of time you take the product for. This effect occurs because the body will become increasingly tolerant to the effects of caffeine resulting in it having less of an effect in the first place. This will mean that less energy will be produced and you may not be able to work as hard as you did when you first began taking the product. This is not something you should be too worried about unless you have been taking the product for at least several months. If, for any reason, you begin to suddenly feel that the product isn’t working as it once was then this may be the reason why. Consider taking a break for a month or two and come back the product after that period, hopefully this break from caffeine will give your body the boost it needs. See our top rated diet pills.
The only real concern surrounding the product is the very high levels of caffeine that is present in each tablet. Excessive consumption of caffeine can lead to side effects even if you are a regular caffeine drinker. The product label advises that you do not ingest any caffeine outside of the tablets; this means that you have to pay close attention to everything that you eat and drink, as caffeine exists in many other forms. The remaining ingredients do not present any serious side effects but this does not mean that you should continue taking the product if something strange or uncomfortable occurs.
|Value for money:||55/100|
At £17 for a one month supply this product is very reasonably priced especially when you consider the amounts of the ingredients are fairly high and are therefore likely to be effective. The main concern is that the effectiveness of the product is largely dependent on how much work you are prepared to put in. Unfortunately, you cannot buy anything other than a one month supply and so saving money on bundles is not a possibility.
Turbotherm Side Effects
The biggest concern with this product is based on its extremely high caffeine content; one tablet contains roughly the same amount of caffeine as three cups of generic coffee. The likelihood of side effects depends greatly on your habitual intake of caffeine in your daily routine. That doesn’t mean that you will not experience any side effects if you regularly drink caffeine but it probably suggests that the chances of side effects occurring will be minimal. If, on the other hand, you do not drink caffeine then it is advisable that you consult your doctor before deciding to try out this product. Some side effects, which are quite common, include insomnia, nausea, headaches and increased heart rate. If you are a regular caffeine drinker, then you may not experience these side effects or at least they will be less severe.

Where to Buy Turbotherm
Turbotherm is only available from the official manufacturer whether you choose to buy the product from the official website or from EBay. Therefore, there is only one price at which you can buy the product and this is £16.99. Both the official website and EBay offer free postage and packing along with a full money back guarantee should you be unhappy with the product. The Maxinutrition company, who manufacture Turbotherm is a perfectly legitimate company (who are owned by the global giant GlaxoSmithKline) and so you should have no concerns about buying from either source. If you do have any issues then the official website provides many avenues for you to contact the company with any queries.
Turbotherm is a heavy-duty thermogenic product, which should be seriously considered. The downside of the product is that it is very much targeted toward people who are sportsmen or exercise regularly. This makes the product unsuitable for a large portion of the population if the obesity epidemic is as bad as the media reports. Due to the nature of the product, its effectiveness is largely dependent on how much effort you are prepared to put in. This may put off some people who think that buying a weight loss product automatically entitles them to weight loss. If you are somebody who wants to shed a few pounds to gain that physique you have always wanted then you should give this product a go. If however you are sensitive to caffeine then you may want to avoid this particular product.
