A second study, published in 2007, looked at the effects of medium chain triglyceride consumption on weight loss and insulin sensitivity in overweight subjects with type 2 diabetes. Forty subjects took part in the study, which was performed in China. The participants were divided into two groups; the first consumed medium chain triglycerides whilst the second consumed corn oil (containing long chain triglycerides) as a control, every day for 90 days.
